The Summer of the Apes is nearly over. But we're just getting started!

The Planet of the Apes miniature board game team teasing the Kickstarter at Gen Con 2017

It's been a wild ride for us as WYSIWYGames this summer as we began showing the world Planet of the Apes: The Miniatures Boardgame. We've demoed the game for hundreds of people around the world even as we continue to refine the game and nail down our production plans for next year.

The main story

Thank you to everyone who joined us this summer either at a convention, or just online! We had a tremendous turn out at all of our events, especially at Gen Con 2017. Above you can see our staff and part of our intrepid demo team hard at work. Gen Con was an incredible experience for us and we are extremely grateful for everyone who took the time out of their convention to check out our game.

We also would like to thank our gracious Gen Con hosts at TheWarStore.com who kindly let us use valuable space in their booth for our demos. Neal and his crew are some of the nicest, hardest working people in gaming, and provide a great online store for all your minis needs.

Here's another one of our demoers, Jerry LeNeave (at left), doing what he does best: throwing down with the Apes!

Upcoming events

The summer convention season may be over, we're not slowing down. The dev team is hard at work refining the rules, developing the new co-op gameplay, and taking into account the lessons learned from our demos this summer.

At the same time, we're also preparing for the next leg of our convention tour, SPIEL, in Essen Germany, October 25-27th! We'll have more information about this and other autumn events soon.

A sneak peak at the Caesar figure armed for war from the planet of the apes miniature board game

Finally, as a thanks for your support, here's a look at an alternate Caesar figure! This Caesar is armed for war and will have stats to match.

We have plenty more to share in the coming months, including new sneak peaks at minis, and a whole lot of fresh content coming to our website later in the year.

For now, though, we hope you'll join us on Facebook and Twitter for more regular news and other sneak peeks.

Thanks again for an amazing summer and remember; Apes together Strong!
